Official Rules
No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase an entrant’s chances of winning. This is a skill-based contest, not a random drawing or sweepstakes. Void where prohibited.
By entering the Backyard Head Start 3D Design Giveaway, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which are final and binding to the extent permitted by law.
The Backyard Head Start 3D Design Giveaway (“Contest”) is sponsored by:
Backyard Design Guy by Premier Backyard Living, Inc.The Sponsor is responsible for administering the Contest, evaluating entries, selecting the Grand Prize winner, and awarding the Grand Prize.

The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
The Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on October 2, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 11, 2026 (“Contest Period”).
The Sponsor’s systems will serve as the official timekeeping device.
Entries received before or after the Contest Period are not eligible.
To enter, visit either:
Complete and submit the application during the Contest Period.
The application may request:
Entry is free. No purchase, consultation, deposit, contract, or other payment is required to enter or win.
Limit one entry per household and one entry per property.
Submitting multiple entries, using multiple identities, or attempting to circumvent the entry limit may result in disqualification.
The Sponsor may contact an entrant to clarify or supplement an application. Providing clarification does not create an additional entry or guarantee finalist or winner status.
Entries must be truthful, complete, and submitted by an eligible entrant.
Entries must not:
The Sponsor may disqualify any entry that does not comply with these requirements.
Entrants retain ownership of their original photographs, videos, stories, and other submitted materials.
By entering, each entrant grants the Sponsor a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to review, reproduce, store, and internally share the submitted materials as reasonably necessary to administer, evaluate, verify, and document the Contest.
Submitting an entry does not automatically grant the Sponsor permission to use an entrant’s name, likeness, home, story, or submitted materials in public advertising or promotional content.
Any public case study, filming, publicity, or documentation involving the selected winner will be subject to a separate written release or project-participation agreement, except where prohibited by law.
This is a judged contest. The Grand Prize winner will not be selected at random.
Eligible entries will be evaluated using the following criteria:
The Sponsor may use application answers, submitted photographs, follow-up information, and preliminary conversations when applying these criteria.
The quality of an entrant’s writing, photography, or video production will not be judged except to the extent that it helps the judges understand the property and proposed transformation.
Entries will be evaluated by qualified representatives of the Sponsor who have experience in backyard design, outdoor-living projects, residential project planning, or related fields.
Each eligible entry will be reviewed using the published judging criteria. The Sponsor may use standardized scoring sheets, internal review meetings, and follow-up conversations to evaluate entries.
If two or more entries receive the same highest score, the tied entry receiving the higher score for “Potential impact of the project on the entrant or household” will rank higher. If a tie remains, the tied entry receiving the higher score for “Clarity and strength of the transformation opportunity” will rank higher. If a tie still remains, an additional qualified judge will reevaluate the tied entries using the same criteria.
The Sponsor may begin preliminary conversations with promising entrants on or after October 7, 2026, while the Contest remains open.
These conversations are part of the evaluation process only. Being contacted does not mean that an entrant has won or is guaranteed finalist status.
No winner will be determined until after the Contest Period closes and all timely eligible entries have been given an opportunity to be evaluated under the same published criteria.
The Sponsor may request additional property information, photographs, measurements, ownership verification, or a phone or video conversation. Failure to respond within the requested timeframe may prevent the Sponsor from completing its evaluation.
After the Contest Period ends, the judges will complete their review and identify the highest-scoring eligible entry.
The selected entrant will be treated as a potential Grand Prize winner until the entrant’s eligibility has been verified and all required documents have been completed.
The Grand Prize is expected to be:
Dates may be adjusted if additional verification is reasonably necessary.
One eligible entrant will receive one professional custom 3D backyard design package from the Sponsor.
The Grand Prize has an approximate retail value of $5,000.
The anticipated package includes:
The Grand Prize is a design service only unless something else is expressly stated in writing.
It does not include:
The Grand Prize is nontransferable and may not be redeemed for cash. No substitution is permitted except that the Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control.
If the actual value of the services received is less than the stated approximate retail value, the winner will not receive the difference in cash or credit.
The winner may be required to begin the design process by November 1, 2026. Failure to begin or participate within the required timeframe may be treated as forfeiture.
The potential Grand Prize winner will be contacted using the email address or telephone number supplied in the application.
The potential winner must respond within 72 hours of the Sponsor’s first notification attempt.
The potential winner may be required to provide:
Unless the Sponsor provides a different written deadline, requested documents must be completed within five (5) business days.
If a potential winner cannot be contacted, is found ineligible, fails to respond or complete the documents on time, declines the Grand Prize, or cannot reasonably participate in the design process, the potential winner may be disqualified. The Sponsor may then select the next highest-scoring eligible entrant.
The Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with receiving the Grand Prize.
The Sponsor may report the value of the Grand Prize to the Internal Revenue Service or other taxing authorities and may issue an appropriate tax form where required.
Entrants should consult their own tax advisers regarding the consequences of accepting the Grand Prize.
The Sponsor may separately offer qualifying non-winning entrants a $1,000 Backyard Head Start Credit toward an eligible paid design engagement.
The Backyard Head Start Credit:
There is no separate Credit Terms document. The terms stated in this section, together with any additional terms the Sponsor provides at the time an offer is made, govern the Backyard Head Start Credit in full.
Eligibility for or interest in the promotional credit will not increase or decrease an entrant’s score in the Contest.
The Sponsor’s decision to extend a promotional credit does not mean that the recipient was selected as a Contest winner, finalist, runner-up, or prize recipient.
No entrant is required to purchase design services or any other product or service to enter or win the Contest.
Declining a consultation, sales conversation, or promotional credit will not affect an entrant’s eligibility or judging score.
Any future purchase or paid engagement is separate from the Contest and must be documented in a separate agreement.
Information submitted in connection with the Contest will be handled according to the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy: https://backyarddesignguy.com/privacy-policy/
The Sponsor may use entry information to:
Contest-administration messages are transactional and may be sent even if an entrant has not separately consented to receive marketing communications.
Marketing emails, text messages, or promotional offers will be sent only as permitted by applicable law and the permissions provided by the entrant. Consent to receive marketing communications is not required to enter or win.
The Sponsor hopes to document the selected design project for educational, portfolio, website, social-media, YouTube, or other promotional content.
Where required, any such use will be governed by a separate written release or participation agreement.
Unless permitted by law and agreed to in writing, entry or acceptance of the Grand Prize does not give the Sponsor an unlimited right to publicly use the winner’s name, likeness, voice, home address, family information, photographs, or personal story.
The winner may be asked to participate in reasonable interviews, project updates, filming, or photography. The extent of that participation must be described in the final winner documentation.
The Grand Prize is intended to provide conceptual design and visualization services.
The completed design does not guarantee:
Beginning the design and planning process earlier may provide more time for contractor scheduling, permitting, engineering, product selection, and project coordination. Actual pricing, availability, approvals, and construction timing vary by project, contractor, location, and market conditions.
The winner is responsible for consulting appropriately licensed local professionals before beginning construction.
The Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who:
If fraud, technical failure, unauthorized intervention, natural disaster, government action, or another event outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control materially affects the Contest, the Sponsor may suspend, modify, or cancel it to the extent permitted by law.
If the Contest is canceled after eligible entries have been received, the Sponsor may select a winner from the unaffected eligible entries using the published judging criteria, if reasonably practicable and lawful.
The Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are late, lost, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, or not received because of technical failures outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control.
Proof that an entrant attempted to submit an entry is not proof that the Sponsor received it.
An entrant experiencing a technical problem should contact [email protected] before the entry deadline. The Sponsor does not guarantee that a problem reported near or after the deadline can be corrected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, representatives, and agents from claims arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance and use of the Grand Prize, except for claims that cannot legally be waived.
Nothing in these Official Rules limits liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
The Contest may be promoted through YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Google, email, or other services, but it is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with those platforms.
Entrants release those platforms from claims arising from the Contest to the extent permitted by law.
If YouTube is used to promote or document the Contest, participation must also comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.
Questions, complaints, and requests concerning the Contest should be directed to the Sponsor, not to any social-media platform.
Except where prohibited, these Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to the Contest that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in an appropriate state or federal court located in Oregon, unless applicable law gives the entrant the right to proceed in another jurisdiction.
Nothing in this section eliminates any nonwaivable consumer right or remedy.
After the winner has been verified and publicly announced, the winner’s first name, last initial, city, and state may be available upon request, subject to applicable privacy law.
